Weekly scheduling and routine

For me, a routine is very important, especially when I have several things that need to be done around the same time.
I have made it a habit to write down what needs to be done in a diary and complete them from most important to least.
Most of the time I write down things so I don't forget to do them. It seems to have become a recurring thing for me to remember important stuff as I'm trying to sleep and end up filling my phone with dot points on what needs doing, then translating them onto paper so I can highlight them when completed.
I started doing diary entries around March when things were kicking off with my website. The average reminder entries like - Add video section to the website, change text font - etc.
Now I am filling up pages and ticking them off throughout the week.
I find it handy having a physical copy in front of me instead of on my computer because it allows me to write whenever I think about something. I don't have to have my computer turned on. When I'm at work or out, I write in my notes tab on my phone and then copy over to my diary when I get home.
Along with scheduling for remembering and getting things done, it has also been important for laying out my week with balancing my website, passion projects, work, and daily life.
When I began my website I found I got so absorbed into it that I wasn't balancing my week out with everything else. I wouldn't be going to bed on time, I would leave my work washing till the last minute, etc.
So to make sure my weeks flow nicely with a healthy balance of work, social, website, and chill time, I made a weekly schedule to stick to for the most part.

This schedule has been on and off depending on what else is happening during the week. Lately, it has been thrown around since starting a new job and getting my photo-zine worked on with printing, but I try to stick to the important aspect of it, which is having days working on my computer, and days off of working on my computer. Resting and staying away from website work, and days where it should be the main focus.
This schedule went hand in hand when I was working at my job Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, but now that it has changed, I am now altering my weekly layout so I can find my balance and routine again.
If you don't schedule your weeks I recommend trying it out. Write a weekly schedule for yourself to follow for 2-4 weeks and see how much it helps you with planning, getting things done, and balancing the many different aspects of your life. I find it very helpful when you know you have a lot to do, and then planning the following days and weeks to come so you can manage it all and space it out to benefit yourself.
I hope this brief write up has made you think about how you can help benefit yourself with scheduling and organising your weeks.
Thanks for reading and join me next Friday at 12 pm for another blog post.
Until then, stay safe.
