Re-visiting Travel Photos - (Scotland Part 2 - December 2017 - Digital)

Hello and welcome back to another Re-visiting Travel Photos post. This post is the last collection of photos from my U.K trip from 2017 to 2018. In this post is the last lot of photos taken in Scotland from my week spent over there seeing my dad's side of the family.

A bit of a basic edit with these ones. The main goal was to make the photo edits reflect what it felt like over there at the time. It was cold, windy, misty, and fun. I brought the temperature down to a cooler and more pale tone, adding a bit of haze into the highlights, making it look misty and foggy. I didn't want to go heavy on the edits as I just wanted to ground them. I've been getting more into moody edits. The photos that best reflect these are the first four photos below.

To me, a moody photo is when the highlights and shadows battle over the photo. There is a strong contrast between the two. The fourth photo is the one that does this best. It adds mood and tone. It draws the eye easily as we're looking at two very different tones and colours.

There's a sense of mystery to the photo with the misty highlights, and the setting of the photo feels very medieval.

I loved being in Edinburgh, it's such a different setting to any city I've been in.

This concludes the post. A bit of a short one. Thanks for reading, join me next week for another post. Until then, stay safe.
