Hi all!
So now that I have completed re-visiting all of my digital photo edits from the U.K trip and a bunch of photos from Japan and Australia, it's time to get into my 2019 backpacking photos. You're all most likely aware I went on a 6-month backpacking trip through Japan and Europe. As I am re-visiting these photos again, I am doing the same with the video footage. Making new videos with footage I may have not used in edits before, changing the mood and style with these new edits and trying some new techniques.
Today's post will be on the photos taken at the first stop of the trip - Japan. These photos are from Osaka and Tokyo from May 4th to May 14th.
You can find some of these photos in the shop with a slightly different edit if you're interested.
For these edits I mainly used two presets I created as I have already gone through these photos, as well as many others from this trip recently to update the shop. Seeing these next to the original edits I did while I was on the trip on my laptop is interesting.
In my previous posts, I mention how I am pretty heavy on the blue/Aquas when editing my pictures, and it seems it has come back to an extent.
The shadows are colder in the re-edits, and so is the temperature in most photos. I have started to play with the vignette quite a bit, making photos a bit more moody. I have also started to make a stronger contrast between the highlights and shadows which definitely makes the photos look different compared to the original edits.
My favourite photo from this gallery would have to be a tie between second row re-edit and the last row re-edit. I've always loved shooting strangers in public and just capturing candid photos. You always get something different every time and in some cases when they look directly into the lens, like the last photo, it just completes the shot.
I have separated the photos that didn't have original edits further down. More writing after photos.
The first two photos below old edits just to get any confusion out the way.
I didn't dive deep on these edits, but I did purposefully go in a different direction to the ones in the shop just to see what they turn out like. All of these photos are also mostly just a preset. Out of the photos below, my favourite would have to be the second row re-edit. I love the brightness and clarity it is reflecting. Almost looks futuristic.
That's all from me. Browse through the photos below and check out the shop to see some of these photos and many more.
Until next time, stay safe.
