Arthur's Seat

Updated: May 1, 2020

After the night seeing LANY, we took the morning train back to Edinburgh. We booked an Airbnb and arrived at the property of where it was. When we got there they had no idea we were coming even though Airbnb said they accepted our stay request. We waited for the guy to come home from work and then solved the issue then and there with the money and looked for another place to stay. The guy kindly gave us a lift to the city centre to his work. We left our bags at his work while we went up to Arthur's Seat; but not before a good lunch to fill us up. We stopped off at Byron Hamburgers for a feed and a milk shake and went on our way. The walk up Arthur's Seat was a cold and windy one but there were quite a few others who were headed up, as well as some dogs. The sky was clear and as we ascended higher the sky behind became pink. We got to the look out point and saw all of Edinburgh in front of us. It was beautiful. We watched the sun go down behind the hills on the other side of the city. It was a sight to see. Next time we're there I want to go up the taller part of Arthur's Seat and see what the view is like. After the night at our other Airbnb host we left on the morning train back to London, arriving back to sludgy snow and cold rain. We had booked an Airbnb for 10 days and it had got accepted but the lady we were going to stay at actually meant to cancel it. So when we got to her place trying to find it and get in touch with her was difficult. We both had no credit and had to sneak into a student accommodation to use a phone and get in touch with her to find which sight her unit was on. We were outside in the rain with our big bags and soaking wet shoes for 30 minutes. She came down and let us in and we proceeded to stay at her place for the 10 days. It was not a good part of our trip but we got through it. The next 10 days was full of working at the bar and saving money for our flight to Sweden for Christmas with Caroline's family.
