Before I started my job at Adventure Bar, I did a trial shift at an Italian Restaurant and bar where they mostly served wine. This job was located down Carnaby street which was cool to experience. I didn't get that job but another job I applied for took me on. This place was called Home House, a private Members Club in an old restored 24 room house. It was about 4 stories tall and I remember one of the guys I worked with mentioning there was over 300 doors. It was very easy to get lost as it was overwhelming. I started working there with 2 weeks left of my course all the way till the start of December. I was mostly a dish hand, but I also worked bar, did room service and waiting a little bit. It was very formal with a suit and tie dress code, black shiny shoes and every guest was 40 years old or more. I worked nights mostly. 6pm till closing. I enjoyed it for a little bit but then after about 2 weeks I got sick of it. You were treated poorly between workers because you were the 'low rank'. And working with international people I found quite hard trying to understand them and wasn't sure if they were being rude or just that's the way they were. When my trip to Scotland came up I got a call from Adventure Bar asking if I wanted to work there after I did a trial shift with them a week before. I said yes and quit my job at Home House. Was so happy as Adventure Bar was more my vibe.
After I finished my EBS course, our stay with Bella and Dexter was finished and we had to move places. We stayed in Mile End for 2 weeks and it was absolutely terrible. We were in a share house and the host didn't live there. The place was terrible and the people were terrible too. Before going to Scotland we went to the World Flair Competition hosted at Roadhouse and met up with some guys in the EBS course, and we also went to Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park. I went to Scotland on the 4th December and Caroline arrived on the 6th as she had to work.
